Duplicate an estimate for another job

Reuse an existing estimate while keeping the new job’s details separate.

Estimate → Actions → Duplicate & Edit

Before you start

Open the estimate whose scope you want to reuse. Check whether a template would be better for work you repeat often.

  1. Actions contains document-specific operations.
  2. Download a copy or copy the live document link.
  3. Review Preview before using Send.

Step by step

  1. Choose Duplicate & Edit

Open Actions on the estimate and expand Duplicate & Edit.

  2. Choose the recipient

Select Duplicate to this lead to continue with the same contact, or Duplicate to another lead for a different job. Complete the recipient selection when prompted.

  3. Review the new document

Check the client, project, title, dates, line items, pricing, terms, and payment schedule. Remove details copied from the old job that no longer apply.

  4. Preview and send

Wait for saving to finish, preview the new estimate, and send it only when its scope and recipient are correct.

What happens next

You have a separate estimate based on existing work. Review the new record rather than assuming the original document’s approval or payment history applies.

Good to know

Duplicating is for a new proposal. To bill existing agreed work, convert the estimate to an invoice; to change agreed scope, use a change order.
